With the support of more than 70 professional staff at Midwestern Consulting, the Engineering System Group undertakes a variety of projects ranging from small traffic study to large scale regional transportation planning.

Hongbin (Ben) Chen, P.E., PTOE
Senior Associate / Group Manager

Ben works with a group of versatile and talented people who pride themselves in innovative solutions. As a project manager and lead engineer, he has provided technical support in transportation planning, traffic engineering, infrastructure design / management, and GIS development to Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC), numerous county road commissions and communities.

Adrian Forbes
Lead Web Developer

Adrian has developed a wide range of web applications and supported several platforms, including: intranet applications in a multiple server environment; managing development of global projects for tracking applications; a global server consolidation system; a global department web application for information sharing; constructing data models, designing interfaces, and implementing web applications for streamlining business processes; developing and supporting web solutions for corporate and private entities; supporting server-based and peer-to-peer networks

William (BJ) Tomiko
Lead GIS Developer

BJ has developed and implemented various database and GIS applications for Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG); Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC); Road Commissions for Oakland, Wayne, Livingston, Macomb, Washtenaw, St. Clair, Monroe, Kent, Genesee, and Ingham Counties; Cities of Ann Arbor, Belleville, Flint, and Detroit.

Gretchen Meyer, EIT
Civil Engineer

Gretchen has significant experience in civil and traffic engineering projects. She has developed hydraulic models using HEC-RAS for hydraulic design, floodplain delineation and floodway determination. In addition, she has worked on numerous traffic data collection and no passing zone survey projects.

Brian Rodgers
Data Collection Lead

Brian is in charge of all data collection and processing activities. He has participated in various traffic engineering projects for many agencies including the Michigan Department of Transportation.
